Keep Art Supplies Out of the Landfill!

Atlanta, we have a problem! According to the City of Atlanta's SMART Waste Management Report, Atlantans throw away an average of 941 pounds each year. Scraplanta has collected 95,685 pounds of materials since May 2022, and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon! However, we need your help collecting the RIGHT materials to ease our donation process.

Scraplanta accepts new and gently used art, classroom, party, and office supplies. We sell these items at low prices to fund our operations or give them away to other non-profits for their programs. We email donation receipts at the end of the year.  If you have a donation larger than one bag or box (i.e. you can't carry it into the store in one trip), you must make a donation appointment, or we will be unable to accept your items.

Donations can be made on a rolling 2 week basis. Bookmark our appointment page and check back weekly if you don't see any times open. If you need to get rid of art supplies, please consider donating or recycling with our community partners such as Southeast Fiber Arts Alliance, Lifecycle Building Center, Atlanta Green Theatre Alliance, and LiveThrive.

Scraplanta's Periodic Table of Creative Reuse

Scraplanta accepts items from several craft disciplines such as Fiber Arts, Papercrafting, Ceramics, Printmaking, Woodworking, Event Planning, Painting, and even photography! Our Periodic Table is a reference guide for accepted materials. Please be mindful of the things we don't accept because it slows down our processing times.  WE DON'T ACCEPT ITEMS IN THE GRAY AREA.

Materials Diversion Guide

Although we have an exhaustive list of items we accept, please do not consider us a drop off point for household recycling. One of our amazing interns made a materials diversion guide for hard to recycle materials such as clothing, books, glass, household plastics, and latex paints. Please review and share this guide with your community.
