MEET THE SCRAPLANTA TEAM
a.k.a. The Scrap Squad
Scraplanta's team consists of a joyful mix of paid staff and volunteers. The retail team managers the store and incoming inventory. The community team organizes in-house workshops and community art events.
Jonelle Dawkins, MBA (she/her)
Executive Director
Jonelle is an Atlanta native who has been passionate about sustainability and the arts since her Kittredge elementary school days when she enjoyed 4-H trips and art classes. Jonelle is a proud UGA Alumna (BSFCS ’19) where she studied ethical fashion in Ghana and obtained a Sustainability Certificate. During her time in graduate school at NCAT, Jonelle discovered creative reuse centers in Greensboro, NC. She was eager to get involved and grew from volunteer to sales floor manager. Jonelle plans to use her Creative Reuse experience to establish Scraplanta as a community staple for Georgia artists and educators. When she isn't at Scraplanta, she is making jewelry for her brand, Joforia Jewels or sewing cosplays.
Sarah Phoenix (she/her)
Director of Operations
Sarah is a dynamic being who manages Scraplanta's retail and inventory operations with enough energy to power the State of Georgia. Jessie Dubyoski (she/her)
Reuse Specialist
Jessie is a set dresser and filmaker from Catonsville, Maryland. She loves to bring her tools to Scraplanta and build shelves to optimize retail space. She always creates wonderful prints and is a proud member of Decatur Makers.
Kaliena Bowen (any/all)
Development Manager
Kaliena Bowen is an Atlanta-based creative director with extensive film and digital media experience. Kaliena brings their strategic prowess to Scraplanta through their inventory optimization practices and social media strategy.
Catrina Corbett (she/her)
Reuse Specialist
Catrina is a fiber artist and sculptor from Atlanta, GA. Catrina's portfolio represents her vast knowledge of dyeing and material manipulation techniques. When she isn't wrangling Scraplanta's chaotic yarn tangles, she can be found at local markets selling her crafty creations for her brand, Triple C Art.

Sales Associate
Bridget is a history major at Emory University. She hails from Durham, North Carolina and first discovered creative reuse at The Scrap Exchange.

Rain is a mixed media artist who is passionate about incorporating sustainability into their art.
Max Kollman (they/them)
Community Coordinator
Max is a creative catalyst, community educator, digital storyteller, environmental modifier, and skateboarding designer. Their background in education started in empty parking lots, plazas, and skateparks. It has since converged into a B.I.S. in accessible learning technology from the University of Minnesota. Their work sits at the intersection of high and low tech, public space, architecture, and community. They believe everyone should have access to a style of learning that works for their needs. They focus on building a collaborative community of inspired learners and teachers to design a more free world. Most recently, they are directing programs at the Village Skatepark ATL.
Barbara McGuire (she/her)
Volunteer Extraordinaire
Barbara is a blessing to Scraplanta. Every Wednesday she brings her adorable dog, Barney and tales of her epic life. She is an excellent baker, gardener, and grandmother to Trista and Zoey, of whom she loves to share pictures. Even when she is unable to volunteer, she creates fun projects for her garden or baby Zoey.
